House
All Scholars will be assigned to a House and have an immediate connection to an advisor to help with the academic and social elements of the Lawrenceville Summer Scholars experience. House life helps develop communication and community skills in a single-sex, age-grouped setting. Advisory groups are led by faculty and Prefects, who are currently enrolled or recently graduated Lawrenceville students.
Harkness
Scholars collaborate with their peers around a Harkness table to gain a deeper understanding of content and develop their own learning processes. Class discussions offer Scholars opportunities to develop skills for critical thinking and to apply those skills in a meaningful way. All classes have a low student-to-teacher ratio. The faculty encourages scholars to learn and grow, to trust in their abilities, and to believe in themselves so that they all reach their full potential.
