Summer Scholars attracts an impressive body of highly-qualified applicants. Thank you for applying! Admissions decisions will be communicated via email. To accept an offer of admission, families should sign on to the family portal to complete the Enrollment Agreement and remit tuition within 15 days of receiving the good news. All other forms and fees, including the Physician's Evaluation form, should be submitted by May 15, 2020. 

Students who were not accepted into the boarding program and who wish to attend as day students are welcome. Simply contact us to transfer your application. No additional fees are needed.

Change Requests, Cancellations and Refunds

Commitments to faculty and staff, arrangements for students' room and board, and other provisions for use and maintenance of school facilities are made in advance of the summer. They are based on anticipated student enrollment and are subject to change.

Prior to April 1st, enrolled students may request a refund in writing in the amount of 50% of the tuition. No refunds after April 1 of the current season will be given. Students who, after the opening of the program, voluntarily withdraw for whatever reason or are required to withdraw by recommendation of the faculty will receive no refund of fees paid. No refunds for late arrival, early dismissal, vacations, illness, or injury.

Orientation Sunday, July 12, 2020

Residential and Students should check in on campus between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. 

During Orientation, our faculty and staff will introduce House and Harkness, and families will have the chance to attend a campus tour. Activities will be held outdoors. 

Lawrenceville Summer Scholars cannot accommodate students before check-in; however, students requiring unaccompanied minor services are asked to make specific flight and arrival plans. Please see the information below.

The Summer Scholars Program does not permit late arrivals; all students must arrive for check-in on the appropriate date.

  • General Information

    Families are responsible for transporting their students to Summer Scholars during the registration window and picking them up at the conclusion of the program.

    However, to make long-distance travel more manageable for families, Summer Scholars does provide limited shuttle service to major airports for an extra fee. Please see "Unaccompanied Minors and Students Travelling Alone".

    As of March 16th, we are not able to meet unaccompanied minor students at the airport, which is a service we previously offered.
  • Unaccompanied Minors and Students Traveling Alone

    As of March 16th, we are not able to meet unaccompanied minor students at the airport, which is a service we previously offered. If you previously registered for this service, we will be reaching out to you individually. We strongly encourage you to travel with your child to the United States in the event of entry complications before clearing immigration. The arrival date for all students is now Sunday, July 12, 2020.

    Arrival on July 11, 2020

    Students who are travelling alone and need to be picked up at the airport and students who need unaccompanied minor service should plan to arrive on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Newark International Airport. Our shuttles will depart Newark Airport at 3:00 p.m. on July 11, 2020.

    Parents must check with the airline to see if the airlines offer unaccompanied minor service prior to purchasing tickets, and they should contact the Lawrenceville Summer Scholars office, in writing at summerscholars@lawrenceville.org, to be sure travel details are clear. Only written communication will make it possible for Lawrenceville Summer Scholars staff to pick up and drop off students at the airport.

    Lawrenceville Summer Scholars will not be responsible for transportation to campus for students whose flights arrive later than 3:00 p.m. Lawrenceville Summer Scholars will not offer airport shuttle service on Sunday, July 13, 2020. Students will stay in the House rooms on Saturday night. On Sunday, they will attend the student orientation.

    The fee for this service is $200 each way and all flight arrangements must be made and communicated to the LVSS staff before June 1, 2020.

    Departure on August 1, 2020

    Boarding students departing by plane may take our bus shuttle to Newark International Airport. The fee for this service is $200. Buses will depart the Lawrenceville School campus at approximately 8:00 a.m. Lawrenceville staff will escort your scholar to the check in desk/security line. 

    Lawrenceville Summer Scholars cannot be responsible for transportation to EWR for students whose flights depart later than 12:00 p.m. on August 1, 2020 or on another day.

    All flight arrangements must be made and communicated to the LVSS staff before June 1, 2020

    To arrange for your own transportation to or from campus, we recommend contacting King Limousine and Transportation services, which offers a minor accompaniment service, at 800-951-2680.

    ** Day students will depart regular time on Friday, July 31, 2020.
  • Day of Arrival

    Sunday, July 12, 2020  

    Students (and their guardians) should arrive on campus between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. to check in. Residential students will be able to move into their rooms, day students will pick up their course information packets.
  • Day of Departure

    We will close out the program on the evening of Friday, July 31. Day students will depart regular time (5:15 p.m.) on Friday, July 31, 2020. Residential students will leave by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Students need to return their keys and fobs before departing campus. All grades and comments are provided to the scholars at checkout.
