Bernadette Teeley, Executive Director

Bernadette has been at the Lawrenceville School since 2011 where she is a member of the English faculty, Crescent housemaster, and girls rowing coach. She served as Director of Academics for Summer Scholars in 2016 and accepted the leadership of LVSS in 2017. Bernadette has a B.A. from the University of Dayton and an M.A. from the University of Michigan. She and her husband Brendan have two daughters, Vivian and Catherine, and reside year round at The Lawrenceville School. Email Bernadette at
Drew Burton, Director of Students

Drew has served on the faculty and administration Summer Scholars since 2015. He spends the school year teaching history at Gill St. Bernard’s School and serving as an advisor, and coach. He began his professional experiences as a Teach For America corps member working in Baltimore City.  Drew earned his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, his M.A.T from Johns Hopkins University, and his M.A.ED from Seton Hall University.  Drew also works as an adjunct professor for Johns Hopkins School of Education. He and his wife Amanda have two son, Cruz and Everett. Email Drew at
Jason VonWachenfeldt, Director of Academics

Jason has been working at Lawrenceville since 2014 where he serves as a housemaster, chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program, religion and philosophy teacher, and coach. He grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, before earning his B.A. from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, TX), his M.A. from Union Theological Seminary (New York, NY), and his Ph.D. from Georgetown University (Washington, DC). He has professionally worked with students over the past fifteen years as a therapist (ABA), camp counselor, youth worker, tutor, teacher, and residence director. He resides year round at The Lawrenceville School with his wife, Kristen, and two children, Ava and Jack. Email Jason at
Julie Mellor, Upper School Coordinator

Julie Mellor is the Co-Chair of Lawrenceville's Interdisciplinary Studies Program, and a teacher in Lawrencevilles Science department. She studied at William and Mary and Princeton University. Ms. Mellor coaches fencing and is a third-degree black belt who is a former member of the U.S. National Karate Team.
Donna Raskin, Program Manager

Donna has been teaching in Lawrenceville Summer Scholars since 2014. She earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her M.Ed. in Middle School Humanities Education from Lesley University.  Donna taught for nine years at the Princeton Friends School and has authored several books. In addition to working with Summer Scholars, Donna is an adjunct writing professor at The College of New Jersey, Mercer County Community College and Princeton University. She and her teenage son live in Pennington. Email Donna at
