Residential scholars will experience life as boarding students. Residential Scholars select both a morning and an afternoon class to actively engage in during their stay. In addition to the Lawrenceville Summer Scholars program's focus on learning, the residential program offers a variety of recreational activities in the afternoon hours, every evening, and on the weekends. These activities are intended to provide students with fresh air, exercise, social interaction, a bonding-focused community experience, and lots of fun! Activities are designed for a variety of participant interests and give students the opportunity to develop new passions.
On weekends, residential scholars will travel to places such as the nearby town of Princeton, and take full day trips to big cities such as Philadelphia, New York City, New Jersey Shore, and/or Princeton, NJ.
Evening Activities for Residential Scholars
At the end of each busy day, our entire residential community of students and faculty will gather to enjoy an evening activity. Evening activities give students the opportunity to connect with their peers and teachers in an informal way. Many of these activities encourage students to be free-spirited and silly, with little inhibition, to step out of their comfort zone and really bond with friends around them. It is also an opportunity for faculty and administration to see their students in a very different light than in their classes and programs! Some of the more popular evening activities include scavenger hunts, game shows, talent shows/performances, reality TV competitions, and bonfires!
